Telling Mr Sheriff Oborevwori to continue as speaker after June is like carrying absurdly too far
Delta Speaker is Defective – Urhobo Leaders
Prominent Urhobo politicians on Saturday dismissed as untrue the notion of a no vacancy situation in the Speakership position of the Delta State House of Assembly.
“It is not compulsory for Mr Sheriff Oborevwori to come back as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly”
They also described the lawmaker representing Ethiope West as the safest bet to promote the economic, social and political agenda of the Dr Ifeanyi Okowa led People’s Democratic Party (PDP) government.
“The Ethiope West lawmaker possesses the experience, vision, political wisdom, courage and humility needed for the important task “
In a statement in Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area, the leaders described the Ethiope West lawmaker as a sincere politician and team player that can reposition the Delta State House of Assembly, position the members and staff on the platform of social and economic growth and make the legislature an effective arm of government.
“The Ethiope West representative has a sharp mind and capacity to reshape the Destiny of the Delta State House of Assembly. She is brilliant, urbane and humble “
Signed by the chairman of Urhobo National Forum (UNF), Chief Matthew Odiete, the leaders urged associates of the current Speaker to desist from rubbing salt into injury before adding insult to it by suggesting that those Sheriff Oborevwori emasculated, disregarded and deliberately impoverished are working to dethrone him.
“The Ethiope West lawmaker has our blessings. She will be Speaker in the 7th Assembly ” the leaders said.
The leaders also urged political jobbers and small minds in the state not to encourage anyone who possesses a dangerous mind-set to lead the 7th Assembly.
“The nation is saddled with educated illiterates with little or no skill and knowledge to manage people and institutions. Telling Mr Sheriff Oborevwori to continue as speaker after June is like carrying absurdly too far” the leaders added.
